Keira Knightley

Knightley was born in London as she was the child of Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. Knightley was able to get her first agent when she was six years old. At that age, she started working in the fields of commercials and television. In 1999, she was Sabe for the role of Sabe Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Her first big breakthrough was when she played a tomboy footballer in the film Bend It Like Beckham (2002), and later achieved international fame for her role as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy show Pirates of the Caribbean, beginning in 2003. In 2003, she appeared as a romantic in Love Actually and was called an exciting teenager. Knightley received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her character of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). Alongside Atonement the film, she also appeared in the role of Georgiana Cavendish as the tastemaker on The Duchess and Anna Karenina's main socialite. In addition, she branched out into modern dramas. Begin Again, (2013) featured her as an undiscovered singer. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her being a medical student. Knightley came back to historical films in The Imitation Game in 2014 in which she received an nomination to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress.
